Please note: It is important for you to contact me when you receive Patches, and for you to ship him off to the next person within 7 days of his arrival.

If you are unable to get a hold of the next person within the first couple days of Patches visit, then move on to the next person.

It is unfair for anyone to keep Patches longer than this.

There are other families who want a visit from Patches.

If you are unable to follow these very simple rules, then please refrain from signing up as a host family.

And will the person who currently has Patches, PLEASE contact me immediately!
I have left comments on your blog and I have emailed you a few times already.

Patches Visits Carrie

Patches the Bear went to visit Carrie and her family. Carrie is mom to twin angels Lucas and Caleb. Patches was extremely excited to go on a little trip with Carrie and her family. You can read all about it HERE.

Update on Signing Up For A Visit.

As you may recall, the link up for a visit from Patches disappeared. I have been trying to decide on a way to set it up again and have decided that the easiest way to do this (and not worry about a repeat incident) is to just get you to email me your information and I will put it up in the original post in the order that I receive them.

Please email me your FIRST NAME and your BLOG address. My email address can be found under my profile photo in the sidebar. Do not use comments to sign up.

The same rules will apply.

Please note that you MUST be willing to send Patches on his way in approximately one week. Remember, there are other families who want a visit from him. This has been a problem in the past and I want to address this again. Review the rules on the original post.

Again, I apologize to all of you who had signed up for him previously and lost your spot. I feel absolutely terrible about this.

Important Patches Update - please read

Hello Everyone...

Just a quick post to update everyone:

Patches went missing for a little while but he has finally made it to his latest designation, whew!

Unfortunately, a new problem has come up....

Today, I noticed that the linky for signing up for a visit from Patches has disappeared. This has happened a couple times before when the code somehow change or the Linky site was down. However, today I went to check it on the site and found out my account has been deleted. The reason being that it is no longer a FREE linky site. I tried to send a message to ask if I can get access to the information but much to my frustration the contact form did not work either.

I now have to try and figure out how to set up a new link-up or other method for signing up for a visit from Patches. Sadly though, that probably means that some of you who expected to get him sooner will have to wait longer, since I have no way of recalling the order people were on that list. I am not sure if everyone who signed up even follows this blog.

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. I really want everyone to have a chance to visit Patches!

If anyone has any suggestions for how to set up a new sign up, please email me or comment on this post.

Patches Visits Karen (George's Mom)

After Patches' brief visit home, he headed to BC to meet Karen and her family. He arrived in time to help celebrate the angelversary of Karen's son George, who was stillborn a year ago.

There's nothing Patches loves more than hearing about special angels and finding a place for them in his own heart. He sure holds a lot of love in that heart of his!

Patches Comes Home

After visiting a local mom, Patches came home for a few days to catch up. It was great to see him, and I can honestly say that when I held him, I could feel great energy from him. I believe that energy is from all of you who have hosted Patches so far. What a great feeling!

I am pleased that Patches is enjoying his trip and that he has been 'patching up' broken hearts everywhere. While he was home, I took photos of his Travel Log so we can see where he's been.

Patches is on his way again. He will be missed, but I know he is fulfilling his purpose...

Patches Visits Karen

Patches is back in Canada and has been spending this week with Karen. Karen is momma to angel Mackenzie. She is also a local momma who I met via the Walk to Remember that I started in 2007 and whom I consider a friend. I am really excited to see Patches again later this week.

Patches Visits Laura

Patches has been quite the busy little traveler. His latest designation was to visit Laura and her family. Laura is mom to 2 special angels; Andrew (who has a surviving twin) and Baby E.

Patches was very proud to spend some time with Laura as she recalled her path towards healing and gratitude to her living children who helped patch up her heart a bit too.

Patches Visits Jodi

Patches went to see Jodi, who is Angelia's momma. Patches had a very nice visit as Jodi showed him a day in her life without her baby. Patches was glad to spend some time remembering such a special angel.

Patches Visits Heather

Patches latest visit was to see Heather and her family. Heather is mom to an angel named Sawyer.

The loss of a child, and especially an infant, puts life into perspective. Heather writes eloquently about how the memory of Sawyer ... and observing her Rainbow Baby (a baby after a loss) as he grows, help her remember not to take things for granted.

Patches Visits Kathryn

After Patches left Emalee's, he headed to Kathryn's place for a visit. Kathryn is mom to Seth, who went to Heaven when he was 6 1/2 months old due to a heart condition called HLHS.

He had a lovely time with Kathryn and her family, and helped patch up their hearts a little bit. You can read more about his visit HERE.

And as much as Patches would like to stay and visit longer, he must be on his way to visit the next mommy.

Patches Visits Emalee

After getting himself lost, Patches finally made his way to visit Emalee in Utah. Emalee's little angel is named Kenner.

Patches had a wonderful visit with Emalee. You can read more about their visit and see more photos on Emalee's blog. I hope it was worth the wait and that Emalee's heart was "patched up" a bit too.

Patches is now on his way to his next designation. Hopefully he'll follow the route this time!

Patches' next visit was in Alaska with Jen at Diamonds, Fur and Laundry, whose little angel is named William.

The reason for my delay in writing about Patches is that he went missing. Yes, that silly bear went and got himself lost!

Patches has made his first stop on his "Patching Up Broken Hearts" Tour. His first stop was in Rochester, NY where he visited with Ya-Ya. Patches spent some time with Ya-Ya remembering her babies gone too soon, Finn and Flicka.

Patches the Bear is a tiny bear who travels around to patch up hearts that were broken by pregnancy or infant loss.

If you are a bereaved parent and would like a visit from patches, please read the guidelines below and sign in by emailing me your name and blog address. (my email is in my profile on the sidebar) I will then post below your name and link to your blog. Upon Patches' arrival to your home, you will contact the person BELOW your name to obtain their address to send Patches to them after your visit.

How it will work:

Patches will travel from October 15, 2009 - ~~October 15, 2010~~ indefinitely.
He will be sent from one Blogger to another. Each blogger who gets him will take a photo (or many photos) of his "traveling adventure" ... the photos can be of the blogger holding him, or Patches with something that meaningful .. that reminds you of your baby/babies... Their headstones or a photo of them or whatever you feel comfortable taking a photo of. It is recommended, however, that you blur out any last names from photos for privacy and safety reasons.
Each blogger will send the photos (or a link to photos) via email to me.
Bloggers must send me a link to the post about Patches on their blog.
Each blogger will keep him for no more than 1 week, and then pass him along to the next blogger.
Each blogger, should they choose, may send their own personal cards or other items to the next blogger to keep. Patches, however, must continue to travel.
Patches is no bigger than my palm, so should not cost too much to mail around. However, due to cost of international shipping, Patches will only be traveling in Canada and the US.
Every so often, I will post an update on the Patches' travels, linking to your blog post.

Who will get Patches?

You must be a blogger.
You must be a bereaved parent via pregnancy or infant loss
You must live in either Canada or the US.
You must be willing to mail Patches to another blogger after your visit.
You must love bears.

How do I sign up?

Email me your First Name and Blog Address. I will then add it below.
